Introduction~~
Hye Sung opened his eyes and watched the world around him slowly come into focus. As he sat up he realized he had no clue
where he was. From what he could see he was in somebody’s house but it did not look the least bit familiar, and he could
not for the life of him figure out how he had come to be here.
His eyes scanned the room, it was very lovely. The bed he was lying in was big and soft, and there were many windows which
let in the bright sunshine and gave the room a cheery, happy feeling.
As he looked around quietly, he realized that even though nothing seemed to make sense, he was not worried. He felt at
peace, more so than he ever had.
"Oh, you’re awake," A girl’s voice came from the doorway. Hye sung turned to look at her, she was beautiful.
Her face was kind and her eyes loving,. She seemed unreal as she stood before him in a long flowing white gown and smiled.
Hye Sung found himself unable to resist, and he returned her smile.
"I thought you’d never wake up, how do you feel?" She asked, walking over to his bedside and pouring him a glass
of water from the pitcher on the nightstand.
"I, I feel fine..." Hye Sung said, taking the glass from her hand as she held it out to him. He took a sip of the water,
"Thank you."
"You’re welcome," she said sweetly.
"May I ask you something?" (Hye Sung)
"Yes, what is it?" The girl asked smiling hopefully.
"Who are you? And, where am I?" (Hye Sung)
She felt her heart sink, he didn’t remember her, "You don’t know?"
Hye Sung shook his head. He was starting to feel bad, the girl’s smile had faded and she seemed upset by what he
had said.
"Do you know your name?" She asked.
He thought a minute then replied, "Hye Sung."
"Yes, you are Hye Sung. I am Annie, and we are in our house," she told him.
"Our house? We live together?" (Hye Sung)
"Yes, but don’t think too hard right now, just relax. You went through a very traumatic experience, I’m surprised
you even remember your name." (Annie)
"What... What happened?"" (Hye Sung)
"Shh, don’t try to rush it. Your memory will come back on its own. For now, you need to rest." (Annie)
"But, I’m not tired." (Hye sung)
"You are, you just don’t realize it. Your body is still in shock. Please Hye Sung, just lie down and rest." (Annie)
Hye Sung did as she said, maybe rest would help to clear his mind. Everything was just so hazy...

Chapter 1___
For the next few days, Annie stayed by Hye Sung’s side and took care of him. Even as he slept she watched over him.
Now, as she gazed at him, he seemed so peaceful. It made her nervous, and she walked over to make sure he was still with her.
She could not bear the thought of being without him, and she knew that after what happened he could have gone at any time.
Although it wasn’t her fault he had ended up this way, she still felt guilty as she remembered what they had gone
through. Her eyes filled with tears.
She tried to blink them back, and succeeded, except for one lonely tear that rolled down her cheek.
Hye Sung’s eyes opened as he felt the tear drop on his face. He looked up to see Annie crying.
He quickly sat up, "What’s wrong? It’s that I still can’t remember anything.... Isn’t it?" He said
sadly.
"No, Hye Sung, don’t worry, it’s not that... I know someday you’ll remember, until then, it will be ok,
because we are still together," Annie said, then lost control over her tears.
Hye Sung reached out and pulled her against his chest as she sobbed. He wished he could comfort her in some way, but he
couldn’t think of anything to say or do. And so, he just held her till her tears stopped......

Hye Sung took a deep breath of the fresh clean air. Annie and he were going on a walk through the forest. It had already
been a week and this was his first time to leave the house. Up until now, Annie had not been sure if Hye Sung was well enough
to leave the house, but she finally decided that a walk may do him good.
As they walked down the dirt path Hye Sung pondered the many things he still could not seem to remember. In the last few
days he had grown very fond of Annie, and he found he did care for her, but try as he might he could remember nothing of their
previous life together.
Also, he did not know what had happened to bring him to his current state, and Annie would not tell him. No matter how
he pleaded she would just tell him to be patient and not worry, then she would change the subject.
Hye Sung had actually started to think less and less about what he couldn’t remember, and began focusing on that
which he was now experiencing. Sometimes, when he looked into Annie’s eyes, he almost remembered something. But as quickly
as it flickered through his mind, it would just disappear again......
~~~~~~~~~~
Taking Hye Sung for walks through the countryside had been very good for him. Annie could see he looked much better and
so she now took him for a walk everyday.
As the days passed he seemed to be growing stronger and regaining more of his health, and it warmed her heart to see him
doing so well.
They had just returned from their walk and it was dusk, they strolled hand-in-hand up onto the front porch then sat down
on the large swing. They watched the sun melt behind the mountains and the sky change from pink and orange to a dark purple.
"Look!" Hye Sung suddenly said, pointing out across the front yard.
"What? What’s wrong?" Annie asked.
"Those! Those tiny flashing lights!" (Hye Sung)
"The fireflies?" (Annie)
"Ah yes, that’s what they’re called! Fireflies, come on," Hye Sung said standing up and taking Annie’s
hand in his.
"Where are we going?" Annie asked, standing up and letting him lead her down off the porch.
"I want to go see them," he said and they started running through the grass.
Annie giggled as they trotted through the field, the warm gentle breeze blowing through her hair.
Finally Hye Sung stopped, he was speechless as he and Annie were surrounded by thousands of little yellow flashes.
"They’re so beautiful," he whispered and held out his hand to them. When none landed on him, he started to run after
them. He swung his open hand and closed it. He then turned to Annie and smiled. He peeked through his fingers. "I got one!"
He said excitedly as it lit up in his hand. "Look," he said and held his hand out.
She came over and peered between his fingers, she watched as it lit up. She smiled back at him as he looked at it again
and laughed with the innocence of a child. He then slowly opened his hand and let it fly away...
